Description:

Compliance Plans are no longer optional for medical practices. The Affordable Care Act requires physicians and other providers who treat Medicare and Medicaid patients to establish a compliance program. The Department of Justice has also issued guidance for prosecutors on determining the adequacy and effectiveness of Compliance Programs during investigations. ASOA’s model Compliance Plan is an excellent tool to use to get started documenting your practice commitment to and efforts in remaining compliant. A Compliance Plan should guide efforts and communicate the practice’s commitment to working correctly and fostering open exchange for continuous improvement. Since practice compliance is a team effort, a Compliance Plan’s guiding principles allow everyone to confidently ensure the practice does the right things in the right ways.
