Surgery Center Update

Description:

COVID took its toll on the healthcare system. Vaccine mandates coupled with the intense physical and emotional strain, fear and personal loss, drove many health care workers out of health care, dramatically escalating the nursing shortage. Consumers were surprised and alarmed to learn the definition of “elective” surgery. Hospital ORs are still being impacted by the surgical backlog and closing their doors to cosmetic surgery and less complex cases (think cataract). Private equity has aggressively pursued ophthalmic providers and rewarded practices that can bring an ASC with them.

If you do not already have an interest in an ASC, you may be asking yourself if it’s too late. The answer is a resounding “NO”. ASC expansion has not abated. In fact new ASC development continues as the demand for outpatient surgery surges with shifting demographics. What about office-based surgery? Is that an option? Join this webinar for a surgery center update to determine the best opportunity for your practice.

Objectives:

Upon completion of the webinar participants will:

  • Identify essential ASC development team members
  • Provide an overview of the ASC development process
  • Understand the difference between licensing, certification and accreditation
  • Identify pitfalls to avoid in ASC development
  • Understand the difference between an ASC and an Office Based Surgery Center (OBSC)

This webinar is sponsored by ASOA Diamond Strategic Business Partner:
