Description:

This comprehensive course will review highlights from the Medicare 2024 Final Rule and other changes impacting coding and reimbursement in 2024. We will discuss the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule conversion factor change and what that means to many of the typical services performed by ophthalmologists. The discussion covers code changes from CPT, ICD10 and HCPCS, reimbursement rates for some new supply items (e.g., drugs), status of telehealth, MIPS highlights, and areas scrutinized by the government. In addition, we will dedicate time examining the MIGS landscape. We will break down the new coverage determinations and corresponding articles recently published by five of the Medicare Administrative Contractors. Finally, we will review several MIGS policies from a few of the “big” commercial payers.
